Light the flame of hope – Christmas Fundraiser!

Light the flame of hope – Christmas Fundraiser!

On a cold Christmas Eve, in a dark and stuffy room, the children sit curled up side by side by the burnt-out fire. The candle flickers to the rhythm of their hopes and desires that Christmas joy will come to their home, too. Their eyes, full of innocent anticipation, follow every shadow as the clock strikes midnight. In the distance, thick darkness is interrupted by a spark of light.

The spark slowly acquires new contours, growing into a beam that lights the path to their humble home. At that moment, one begins to see more clearly the great flame of hope in the image of the Lord Jesus Christ!

His presence brings peace and tranquility, and divine light illuminates the children’s faces. Happy voices and warm smiles now echo off the gloomy walls. Their room has become a place where every dream has been given a chance to come true.

Let’s make this scene a reality!

The Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs is launching a new Christmas fundraiser by lighting a great flame of hope. We invite all good people to donate and to symbolically light and pass on the flame of hope, to join forces in illuminating the entire Balkans!

Awaiting the birth of the Divine Child Christ and guided by his light, help us to chase away the darkness from the homes of Verica, Nevenka, Milos, Dunja and hundreds of other children!

Verica (11)

In the house of horror and fear, situated in the Banat village of Novo Milosevo, live Verica (11), Zorica (10), Milan (7), Zoran (5) and Branka (4).

The Ilijin kids have not had electricity for six years. They bathe in a trough and share only three beds with their parents Branko and Dragana.

Verica’s greatest wish is to have electricity and a bathroom!

We plan to provide a house for the Ilijin family. More than 50,000 euros are needed to complete the project.

Nevenka (5)

Little Nevenka (5) is growing up in the village of Trnjani near Doboj. Her sleepy, dazed eyes looked at us, confused because she was not used to having guests.

Together with her father Stanko, mother Gordana, Sava (13), Vasa (12), Ljubisava (10), Milivoj (9) and Sinisa (7), she shares a dilapidated house with worn-out furniture. They adapted a room to be used as a bathroom and dining room combined!

Nevenka’s greatest wish is to get a warm, pink room!

We plan to renovate and furnish the house for the Radivojevic family. More than 30,000 euros are needed to complete the project.

Milos (6)

Believe it or not, 6-year-old Milos lives in a cave!

The cramped cave is all that the Cuturilov family, which consists of Mira (15), Zlatica (17), Marica and Svetozar has. Unfortunately, almost everyone has serious health issues. Nearby, in a dilapidated house that may be in even worse condition than the cave – given that it is in the process of being demolished – is a single room shared by the mother, brother and two sisters of Svetozar. Every night the kids come to their space, and then they all cram into three beds.

Milos’ greatest desire is to have a normal childhood like all the other children!

We plan to buy and furnish a house for the Cuturilov family. More than 30,000 euros are needed to complete the project.

Dunja (2)

Mihajlo (1), Dunja (2), Andrijana (5), Marko (5), Snezana (7), Milos (8), mother Vesna, father Nenad, and uncle Goran live in a house with cracked walls, drafty windows and a rotting roof in Mokrin near Kikinda. Unfortunately, they do not have a bathroom, so they bathe in the trough or when the weather is nice, in front of the house. They live off cattle breeding.

Dunja’s greatest wish is to play carefree in the new house!

We plan to buy and furnish the house for the Tot-Dokic family. More than 30,000 euros are needed to complete the project.
