Grief for the deceased child never ended – the sad story of the Avramovic family
In the village of Golobok near Smederevska Palanka, the Avramovic family with its ten children lives in an old guardhouse that has no washroom or running water, basic necessities required for a family to function normally in the twenty-first century.

Letter of condolence from Visoki Decani Monastery, praying for the eternal memory of Sasha Stopanjac
Sasha Stopanjac (22) lost her life in a car accident on February 21st in New York. Only three days later, her family launched a donation campaign on Facebook with the goal of donating funds to the Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs instead of buying flowers in memory of Sasha and her love that she shared with her family and friends.

Serbs for Serbs in Berane – let’s help the Malevic family with eight children!
Young parents Biljana and Vuksan Malevic have eight children: Gabrijela (10), Danijel (9), Mariela (8), Krsto (7), Vuk (5), Lukas (2), Katalea (1) and Stela (2 months). They live in the village of Gornja Budimlja by Berane. They say that their children cannot be still for even five minutes. That is obvious from the photos.

Bujanovac is one of the least developed municipalities in our country. It seems as if time stood still long ago and that a hard life has "trampled" over the people living in this area. The depressing, gray atmosphere we felt in the Janjić family home left us shaken and in disbelief!

"I don't want to be cold" – Nikolina (6) from the tragic filled village of Velika
Velika is known as “little Jasenovac.” This village by Plav, Montenegro, at the end of the Second World War, experienced terrible suffering. In just two hours, German, Albanian and Muslim soldiers brutally slaughtered and set fire to over 400 children, women and the elderly. The village never recovered from these atrocities, and the victims were canonized as saints. Velika residents in previous wars had contributed to the liberation of this area from occupiers.

A life filled with anxiety – simply describes what one sees on the face of the homeowner Stoje from the village of Strnovac. Signs of pain and a difficult life are etched in his face. He invites us into a dwelling that has not functioned as a home for a long time. It is heartbreaking to consider that deteriorating wood frames, a damaged roof slowly losing its pyramidal shape, an unplastered wall with protruding rocks, is the Lazarevski house.

“Eternal harmony is not worth the tear of one child," Dostoyevsky once said. Looking into the large, clear eyes of the Jovanovic sisters, it seems that their tears which have dried, long ago transformed into sadness, pain and anxiety. While they battle for basic needs, they can only dream of a carefree childhood full of play.

After driving through a forest, crossing a winding stream, walking through mud, one finally reaches the young Jezdimirovics
Reaching the Jezdimirovic home in the village of Radalj, municipality of Mali Zvornik, requires a five kilometre ride along a rough forest road, a one kilometre walk through mud, and eight crossings of a winding a stream. Until recently, the only means of transport was by horse, but today there is the popular “Tomos” motorcycle. Kilometres away from neighbours and light-years away from civilization, little Dragana is celebrating her ninth birthday.

One could write about an idyllic village life, but except for their natural surroundings, there is nothing idyllic about the Djordjevićs’ lives. They say that their house during the period between the two world wars, was the most beautiful in the village. Today, Emilija (12), Jovan (15), Milica (17) and Danilo (19) each day fear that their house will collapse!
