A cow donated to family Lazic from Ugljevik

The old Lazic family house

The family Lazic lives in the old family house that they are maintaining as much as possible. With the help of good people and close family, they repair something from time to time, or buy something in order to extend its existence. Five of the six children go to school and the whole family has only 140 BAM of child allowance, which represents the only permanent income.

Children of the family Lazic

None of the family members has a permanent job so Radomir is working in neighboring villages for wages, not rejecting a job and nothing is too hard for him, just to earn money and to ensure the children elementary things and groceries.

Sisters Lazic next to their cow

Son Ratko is considerably helping his dad Radomir with agriculture

One can rarely see families, people but mostly children such as the Lazic children. Their hearts were full of happiness upon the mere arrival of the cow in their barn. The children forgot their poverty on that day and they haven’t separated themselves from the cow. Today it is hard to see such gratitude and words of praise as from family Lazic. They send great greetings and words of gratitude to donors who helped them to get a donation.

Happy and satisfied family Lazic with their cow

We invite all people of good will to engage and contribute to the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs who aim at helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout the Balkans.

SfS visiting family Krstic from Boljevac

We found the family Krstic in a very difficult situation: they live from grandma Nada’s retirement, and the remaining profits in their house comes from granddaughter Danica who is employed and grandson Stefan who is engaged in occasional seasonal jobs. Apart from trying to earn money, Stefan and Danica are students of the Faculty of Mining in Bor. Despite the difficult situation the family is trying to regularly settle all accounts. All children are modest, hardworking and well-bred, and the youngest Dimitrije and Djordje are excellent pupils. They live in a home of modest interior, but the family Krstic is maintaining their living space to be remarkably clean and tidy.

The ground floor has a bathroom, a room comprising the kitchen, dining room and living room and where mother and father sleep when they come, which is very rare. Upstairs there is a room that is designated for the bathroom, with unplastered walls and three rooms. In one of them the grandmother is sleeping with younger grandchildren on a French sofa, in the second the older brother and sister are on two apart beds, and the third serves them for storage. The youngest ones don’t sleep in it, because in the winter they have big problems with the heating of the house, especially on the floor because the house has no insulation, and they use an old stove which is located on the ground floor and a wood-burning stove located in the room for older children to heat themselves.

They manage to obtain firewood because the oldest son goes into the forest and help others to cut wood, so he gets paid in firewood. During the winter they spend up to 40 cubic meters of wood. Both heaters are in poor condition and worn out. They have no room for a greenhouse or arable land. They have a small pigsty with two pigs, which could possibly sustain another pig. They breed chickens seasonally, and also have seven turkeys. Space for poultry is also modest. They do not have enough money to buy food for poultry and therefore cannot have more poultry. Electrical appliances and white goods are quite old (used electric stove, refridgerator about 40 years old).

Possible forms of assistance are:
- Insulation of the upper floor of the house, which would overcome the problem with the heating and the children would be able to use all the rooms on the upper floor (young ones to move from grandmother’s room into a room with bunk beds or to move in with the older brother, and the sister could get her room);
- Providing the central heating (the desire of the family);
- Purchase of household and electrical appliances;
- Purchase of a pig, poultry and poultry feed.

We call upon all the people of good will to join and contribute in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

Serbs for Serbs visiting family Sukund

The family lives in a modest manner and without debt, with children's allowance of 11,000 RSD but with certain problems. In addition to the problem of moisture that needs to be resolved urgently, they need another room, which would be the room for the girls and that would allow the normal functioning of the family.

With the current irregular income they are not able to make big plans independently, and one of the first wishes was to get broilers, that would help strengthen their household budget and have a bit easier life.

All of us should now work together to help this family! With four great tournaments, southern Banat showed that it cared for neighbors in need, and Banatski Karlovac will soon get reborn family Sukund with our help!

We call upon all the people of good will to get involved and donate in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

Help for family Stankovic from K&M

New barn

Family Stankovic has suffered great damage, because the barn and hay were burned in the fire early this year, while they managed to remove the cattle and save them. The family took a loan in order to build the new barn, and the organization Serbs for Serbs donated 20 bales of hay. When the neighbors saw that bales were brought, each of them donated a bale or two, depending on how much they could set aside from their stocks and help the neighbor in that manner.

Bales of hay for family Stankovic

We provided help for family Stankovic last year, by donating electric stove and bunk bed with mattresses.

“Trojka iz bloka” held in Crepaja

We started with the most solemn song – the anthem of the Republic of Serbia, God of Justice, and afterwards Milos Simovic on behalf of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs thanked everyone who came to the first tournament in Crepaja, and especially proud sponsors and donors, as well as Davor, Maga, Vlada and Milos, who turned the great desire into reality and realized the project in their place.

Love for basketball and love for one's neighbor is a universal language recognized by all the people of good will around the world. You do not need to be precise from the three-point line in order to fight against poverty by playing basketball! It is sufficient to gather and together show how many of us there are, and that our neighbors in need are not alone! Crepaja showed that by all its heart! The motorbikes roared loudly at the very start of the tournament, as the tournaments of Trojka iz bloka are echoing loud and clear wherever they show up!

Milos Simovic and Speed Hunters with friends

The noise of bikers from motorcycle club Speed Hunters invited all who might not have known that the tournament is being held, to hurry up to the school grounds and see a unique image that is seen only in our tournaments! The youngest handball players from ORK Crepaja, as well as the youngest folk dancers from KUD St. Sava were amazed watching the motorbikes on the basketball field, while the ball retrievers from KK Druzina Kozlovac enjoyed the fact that they are sharing the fields with the bikers for the first time.

Handball players and folk dancers

The magic of Trojka iz bloka with this kind of support was shown in full glory in Crepaja. Boys and girls from KUD St. Sava were playing two folk dances, dances of Serbia and dances of Bela Palanka, and they brought two generations of folk dancers, the youngest ones and somewhat older. It’s beautiful when the youth is gathered around the Serbian tradition, when the heirs with their hearts, spirits and bodies, feel the beauty of our national dances.

The dance begun to spin round and it drew smiles, and then the balls begun to spin round, and 62 contestants went into the game. The best three-pointer shooters gathered 16,670 RSD by their applications and organized the exciting competition for the gathered crowd!

A proud sponsor and donors have supported the tournament with 23,000 RSD. Proud sponsor Grin life paid 7,000 RSD, and donors who have recognized and supported the mission of Trojka iz bloka were Pharmacy Diona with 5,000 RSD, Krstic vegetables with 4,000 RSD, Fiscal system, Bakery Tajna and Moto Club Speed Hunters Crepaja with 2,000 RSD each, Exchange Office SiS with 1,000 RSD. OK PHOTO – Filip Stevanovic photographed the tournament and kicked triplets with us, while the MZ Crepaja provided refreshments.

Champions of the fourth tournament in Southern Banat were: Ivan Ruzic with 14 hits for the gold, Vladimir Krcadinac with 13 silver triples and Petar Nikolic, who won the bronze medal, losing to Vladimir for five additional points in the fight for medals after the initial tie score.

Champions surrounded by Trojka iz bloka team

Good fun in Crepaja lasted until late in the evening, then continued on motorcycle rally organized by Speed Hunters, and at the fair, which is set in the center, less than a hundred meters from the school yard. People from Crepaja, thank you for everything and see you again next year!

Greetings from Crepaja!

New help for family Davidovic from the Republic of Srpska

During our visit to the family, we were reassured that the biggest problem of the family still consists in the location of their house. Namely, as we reported, the house is situated approximately 20 kilometers from Prijedor on mostly gravel road, and additional kilometer and a half of almost impassable forest road leads to the gravel road.

Older son Dejan beside the tractor

It further, unfortunately, entails other problems – there are fewer people who surround family Davidovic and where members of the family can work for a wage and earn money; the elementary school is far away, and the children will have to attend the high school in Prijedor; the hospital is also far away; and the road is largely impassable during the winter time.

The only solution for the family is to move to some of the Prijedor suburban areas, so that it could be closer to the town and have the opportunity to continue to engage in agriculture. Our organization, in the following long-term period, will certainly try to provide a house and a property to the family and move them there with the help of donors and, primarily, state institutions.

Until then, we once again call upon all friends and donors of the organization to get involved in fundraising according to their possibilities and thus help the work of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs.

Help arrived for family Jurisic from Pirot

New tools for craftsman Zoran

New welding machine

As we reported earlier, at the time of our visit, family Jurisic was three months without electricity, but they had managed to pay debts for electricity in the previous period, after which it was turned on again.

Machines and an additional tool for the workshop

In this regard, it opened the possibility that in a makeshift garage, which the father Zoran made by himself with great difficulty, with the help of a single hammer and a saw, we could provide the family Jurisic with tools with which they could perform tin-paint works in that garage, in which father Zoran has a great experience, because he had worked on such jobs for ten years, while he lived in Krusevac.

The son Danijel and father Zoran in workshop

Therefore, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs bought a tool in the amount of 90,607 RSD, and thus enabled the family Jurisic to provide sufficient resources to enable their children a decent life with their work.

Tin-paint workshop Jurisic

As we were assured during our visit, for only a few days after our help, the family Jurisic’s job boosted. As they say, people have recognized their hard work, skill of father Zoran, and a new and professional tool that is provided to them in order to perform all types of these jobs in a professional manner.

Hard working host Zoran Jurisic

On this occasion, we extend gratitude of family Jurisic to all of our donors, participants of the project “Trojka iz bloka”, as well as the sponsors of the tournament in Pirot who contributed another Pirot family to get back on its feet.
