Three-pointer from the Block in New York City!

For the fourth year in a row Charity Organization “Serbs for Serbs” has organized an annual tournament in fast three-point shooting “Three-pointer from the Block” in New York City. This years event was very successful.

Beautiful sunny day and the basketball courts in Tompkins Square Park in East Village neighbourhood of NYC were the perfect backdrops for the second year in a row. The tournament was open by the Serbian national anthem “Boze pravde.”

With it, the stage was set for very lively competition in which men, women, and kids showed their skills in shooting fast three-point shots, confirming that this a truly global game for all generations. This year third place went to Boris Dogancic, second place went to Viktor Kovacevic, and the champion was Andrej Dragicevic who overcame his closest opponent Viktor by a single basket.

All in all, we had 51 competitors in a battle for the coveted trophy “Three-pointer from the Block” New York, and we manage to collect $3,210 which wоuld help Serbian families across the Balkans.

Our warmest gratitude goes out to all visitors and participants, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreations, which made it possible for us to continue our annual event in this great city. We are especially thankful to our sponsors, restaurant “Kafana,” bakery “Pain D’ Avignon,” restaurant “Milkflower,” “Mamut Dentistry” and distributors “Balkan Wine Project” for their help and support. We can not wait to be back next year, bigger and better!
