Serbs for Serbs in Austria and Germany

Members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs had been in the four-day visit to Austria and Germany in mid-January, during which they visited Linz, Lindau, Friedrichshafen, Nuremberg and Graz with the aim to present the organization, get to know the donors and Serbian communities in that area and hold regular meetings with the representatives of the organization Serbs for Serbs from Switzerland, Austria and Germany. The video report can be seen HERE.

Our first stop was the Austrian city Linz which we visited on Friday, January 15 and in which, after visiting the gorgeous St. Vasilije of Ostrog Temple in the Austrian-Swiss Eparchy, we organized a meeting with the collaborators of our organization concerning the organization of the sport-charity project “Trojka iz bloka” in that town in the following season.

We spent the next day (Saturday, January 16) in the town Lindau, on the Bodensee Lake shores, where the traditional futsal tournament gathering the Serbs from entire southern Germany took place, and within which we were allowed to set a stand and present the organization.

We hosted a lot of people on the stand – those who had already heard of us and who followed our work regularly were approaching right away and greeting us, while we were distributing annual reports of the organization and the rest of the promotional material to those who wanted to get acquainted closer with our activities. This beautiful town on the Bodensee Lake was at the same time also the place of our encounter and meeting with the members of the German and Swiss branches of the organization Serbs for Serbs.

We cannot help but emphasize the warm welcome from the organizer of the tournament and friend of the organization Jovica Seat during our staying in Lindau, of which we are immensely grateful.

On that day, with the blessing of the temple elder, father Slobodan Tijanic, our donor box was permanently located at the temple and in the future the believers and visitors will be able to give their donations.

On the Holy Cross Day on January 18 we attended the Holy Liturgy in the St. Cyril and Methodius Temple in Nuremberg after which we met and talked with the temple elder, father Marinko Radmilo, who had been actively cooperating with the members of our branch in Germany for a long time.

On the eve of Epiphany we arrived at Graz in which we met and talked with the members of our branch in Austria headed by the newly elected president of the SZS Austria, Bojan Suzic. During the meeting we were talking about the intensified activities we are planning to conduct with joint forces in the forthcoming period in Austria in order to get direct contact with as many as possible of our regular donors but also to get to know the vast number of Serbs living and working in Austria with the work of our organization.

In the forthcoming period we plan, with the help from God, to use visits like this to present our work to the Serbian people in several more European countries, with the aim of helping the as many socially disadvantaged multiple children families as possible.
