17 years since NATO attacked Serbia

NATO bombing of our homeland started on March 24, 1999, and lasted continually for 78 days. Over a 1,000 civilians and hundreds of soldiers were killed, and material damage is estimated to be over $30 billion. Infrastructure and industrial facilities were destroyed, and schools, healthcare centers, media headquarters, and even embassies of countries that are not members of NATO were not spared. Serbian people suffered another epic disaster at the end of the 20th century, again being forced to defend themselves against the enemy superior in number, and for the umpteenth time defended their freedom with great sacrifice.

Western civilization showed in 1999 that using media propaganda, they can stigmatize the entire nation and expose the marked victim to mortal danger. Bombing with depleted uranium makes the flagitious action even meaner, because the accurate number of casualties, who are still dying, cannot be determined. 17 years after the bombing, we pray for the victims and watch history being distorted and the aggression on our people continuing in other forms.

Hard burden of the 1990s made our people poor and led to the need for strong and transparent charity organizations. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs continues the fight for the brighter future of our children, following its main motto: CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!
